Black ant treatment in South East Queensland

Found black ants running over your kitchen bench or a muck in the bathroom?
Being bitten when you step outside on the lawn?
Wondering the safest and most effective way to get rid of Black Ants?

To be honest, Black Ants are the most problematic pest to control in and around your home. They are so numerous and persistent. The only practical approach is to eradicate the source, the nest. If you kill off the source you solve the problem. This approach requires an application of a non-repellent transfer treatment, Termidor. It might take a couple of weeks to see a complete reduction of the Black Ants, and in some bad cases, it might take a couple of treatments. But it works!

Termidor for ant control

As a homeowner, you know how frustrating trying to get rid of ants in your house (especially since trying to do it yourself can make things worse!). Fortunately, for practical, professional ant control, you can count on TERMIDOR®.

TERMIDOR has delivered unparalleled termite control since it was first introduced onto the Australian market in 2002. The key reasons for this success are that TERMIDOR is non-repellent plus it has the unique ‘Transfer Effect™’. These key attributes make TERMIDOR the ultimate social insect control agent. As ants are also very social insects, it makes perfect sense to bring the power of TERMIDOR to help in the battle against the hardest to control pests.

To control ants, it’s important to target them where they live. Chances are, ants, and some of the other pests in your home, actually live in nests outside. The key to controlling ants is to target them where they live—which is exactly what TERMIDOR does. By applying TERMIDOR to your house’s outside exterior foundation walls, your pest professional creates a treated area of protection.

How termidor controls ants

In the last decade, the professional pest control industry has been revolutionised by new control technologies, especially in the area of non-repellents or “undetectable” liquid treatments like TERMIDOR. Unlike older insecticides, TERMIDOR can’t be smelled, tasted, or even felt by pests. So they crawl through the treated area, unaware that ingesting treated materials or merely contacting the insecticide will cause them to die.

The unique transfer effect™

TERMIDOR is unique because it even controls ants that never make direct contact with its active ingredient. Ants are social insects that live together in large colonies and feed and groom each other. They need only make contact with other ants that have been exposed to TERMIDOR. The “Transfer Effect™” makes most of this. It’s a key reason why no other insecticide performs as well as TERMIDOR. This “Transfer Effect™” means you’ll see TERMIDOR affecting ants in one to three days and most species will be controlled within the first week following the treatment.

Using ants behaviour

Recent independent research that tested 8 Ant control insecticides, concluded that only TERMIDOR was horizontally transferred among nestmates to provide significant secondary kill in Argentine ant colonies. Interestingly one of the reasons for this excellent result lies in the behaviour of the ants themselves. Ants have developed a behavioural trait of removing dead individuals from the nest, referred to as ‘necrophoresis’. Necrophoresis is a crucial ‘Transfer Effect™’ pathway whereby healthy ants are contaminated upon removing TERMIDOR affected ants from the nest. A successful product needs to be relatively slow-acting, non-repellent and have the ability to transfer from one ant to another. Couldn’t get a better description of how TERMIDOR works.
