Why should you always treat a termite nest?

If you believe you’ve found a termite nest in your garden, don’t rely on the myth that leaving it alone will keep termites away from your home.

Termites don’t respect boundaries. If a nest isn’t treated, the colony continues to grow and strengthen. As numbers increase, termites expand their foraging range and will eventually locate a concealed entry point into nearby structures.

Allowing a colony to mature significantly increases the risk of serious damage and the cost of repairs that follow.

What does a termite nest look like?

There are five types of termite nests you can find in the garden:

Aboreal nest

Tree trunk nest

Tree stump nest

Mound nest

Embedded nest in landscape timbers
